Kenya Day 5 – Medical Exams for 300 Students

Today was such a productive and fun filled day. It began with an energetic morning devotion with the primary school students and teachers, before beginning setup for our day of medical checkups. Traveling with a group as large as ours certainly has its challenges, but these are far outweighed by the beauty of having so many hands to share in the work.

With all of those hands on deck this morning, we were able to complete the medical, dental, and vision exams on all 300 primary students in a quick and orderly fashion. In return, they requested our presence this afternoon for a specially prepared song and dance performance. It was such a treat!

Afterward, we were asked to join them in some competitive soccer play. I think our contingent of team members represented us well!

We have just finished our group devotion and debrief and are headed to bed early in preparation for our second medical camp tomorrow. The camp will be held in a high need community about 30 minutes up the road. We have been told to expect quite a crowd. Please pray for the Lord to go before us in the logistics, and that our team is able to operate with patience, a willing spirit, and a positive attitude in the face of unpredictable circumstances.
