This afternoon the staff got a chance to visit the construction site. We were warmly welcomed by Zak Hamlett, the construction supervisor, who rolled out the red carpet for us to get across the mud and step into the building!
We admired the office space and took some time to write scriptures and prayers on the studs, and we also walked around to the upstairs to see the adult classroom area. It is very exciting to see the space and begin to get a feel for what will happen there. We pray that our work and ministry will thrive in that new space!
The slab area is being prepped today for a planned pour on Thursday this week! In order to have that happen, we need some key inspections to happen. To that end, one inspection is taking place Wednesday early in the morning, and the other one is taking place Thursday at 5 am! Please pray for these inspections to go well, and for everything to go smoothly for pouring the concrete for the connector and chapel floor. If you tune in to the live webcam, particularly in the morning, you should be able to see the cement trucks arriving and unloading their cargo. The work will last for many hours after the concrete is all laid down, as the surface is smoothed out to a nearly glass-like finish. It looks like the weather will be great on Thursday!
