I was born and raised in Rocky Mount NC, graduated from UNC with a degree in math, and from UNC-G with an MBA. My wife Susan and I have been married for 50 years, have three grown children and 9 grandchildren. I retired from Alcatel-Lucent in December 2011, where I was a business process manager and internal consultant.
While I grew up in a "culturally Christian" home and occasionally attended church with friends, it was not until I was 23, married, and graduated from UNC that I came to be a believer. I clearly remember God calling me one Sunday night in October 1968 during a revival service at Lawndale Baptist Church in Greensboro. Only then did I come to know God personally and this began an incredible journey that continues to this day.
