Overview

Our mission at the Chapel Hill Bible Church is to equip our church as a community to reach the Triangle and beyond with the message of Jesus.


The purpose of the Kids Ministry Associate position is to provide administrative oversight for the Kids Ministry in partnership with the Kids Minister to maintaining alignment with the overall vision of CHBC. We want our children to know, love, and follow Jesus and reach the world for Christ.

  • The Kids Ministry Associate is responsible for...
    • Partnering with the Kids Minister to ensure supporting systems further the Gospel being proclaimed to the coming generations.
    • Providing administrative support to the Kids Minister (scheduling, resource management, filing, document prep, ordering books and materials, processing credit card receipts, database maintenance, event planning, etc…).
    • Monitoring and advancing priorities on behalf of the Kids Minister.
    • Maintaining congregational and ministerial confidence and protecting operations by keeping information confidential.
    • Staying abreast of correct information regarding ministry events and initiatives and responding to questions and requests from church and community members in a timely manner.
    • Equipping and supporting involved lay leaders, e.g., the Supply Team, the Kids Ministry Leadership Team, etc…
    • Managing volunteer scheduling, calendar, reservations, check-ins, registrations, groups, and people in Planning Center Online (PCO) on behalf of the Kids Ministry.
    • Preparing and managing Kids Center rooms for weekly use.
    • Ensuring accurate content on web pages and other public communication channels.
    • Working alongside the Kids Minister to build and retain volunteer roster.
  • Skills & Characteristics

    Education & Experience

    • At least two years of children’s ministry experience in a church
    • Undergraduate degree required
    • Commitment to ongoing growth and professional development


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Has a heart for children and experience working with children in a church context
    • Has successfully led a team of volunteers
    • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential information
    • Professional, mature, and flexible work style
    • Ability to use web-based systems such as Basecamp, Planning Center Online, and Google Drive (training provided, if needed)
    • Has strong written and oral communication skills

  • Expected Hours

    Full-Time: 40 hours per week, flexible, including Sunday morning.  (Specific days and hours based on mutual agreement.)
